Uses

BVAu-8 is a very ductile alloy generally used in high temperature applications due to its high oxidation resistance. It wets well to tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and other high-temperature superalloys.

Brazing Characteristics

Wets well to superalloys and provides high ductility due to high level of gold. BVAu-8 exhibits excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance due to the stable nature of its components.

Properties of Brazed Joints

The properties of a brazed joint are dependent upon the base metal, joint design and brazing technique. For atmospheric brazing the recommended radial joint clearance for gold base alloys fall within .0015-.002” range.
