ABOUT COPPER BRAZING ALLOYS
Copper brazing alloys are well known for their excellent resistance to corrosion and high electrical and thermal copper conductivity. Copper alloys are ductile, wet iron appropriately and exhibit excellent joint penetration.
COPPER-PHOS BRAZING ALLOYS
Copper-phos brazing alloys are primarily used to join copper and copper-alloy base metals. The phosphorous present in these alloys assists in the deoxidation of copper. These alloys are available in a variety of compositions and a range of melting temperatures for customer specific applications.
COPPER ZINC BRAZING ALLOYS
Copper-zinc brazing alloys are used for their high strength and stress characteristics. It is imporntat to avoid overheating, which can vaporize the zinc thus, leaving voids in the joint.
COMMON APPLICATIONS AND FORMS
Copper brazing alloys are generally used for the brazing of carbon and allow for the brazing of steels, stainless steel, nickel, and copper nickel. Copper brazing alloys are used primarily in furnace brazing with protective reducing atmospheres without flux.
